Special effects is a wonderfully diverse industry, where else could you be crating warrior armour and weapons one day, then sculptures of footballers the next?

Propshop is one such company in the relatively small and interconnected world of effects, and most recently it’s been working on the Disney Muppets movie, Muppets Most Wanted. See how they used LightWave and 3D Printing to deliver props for this particular film.

To help people understand the mechanism of action (MoA) of its next-generation probiotic CLOSTAT, the manufacturer Kemin AgriFoods commissioned 3D medical animation company Cortical Studios to create a short film illustrating how this probiotic keeps poultry healthier by maintaining a balanced intestinal microflora. To help them create the 3:44 educational, promotional video, primarily using LightWave 3D animation software, Cortical Studios turned to 3D visualization studio Cyberfish.

As menacing as ED-209 was on the silver screen in RoboCop, he’s just as menacing in this real life remake of the popular movie, even though he’s made with cardboard, aluminum, springs, Velcro, and bungee cord. Calling ED-209 the coolest movie robot of all time, twin brother David and James Codeglia used LightWave 3D to bring the formidable Enforcement Droid Series 209 to life and visualize the robot as a full-size walking costume, creating the blueprint for the real-world ED-209 prop in the comedic spoof Our RoboCop Remake.
