Who doesn’t love a creative challenge? Especially when it involves using 3D to create weapons for game play? Humster3d.com has unleashed a new contest that encourages participants to model and render original 3D weapons and submit them to the gallery for judging. The saying “like father, like son” certainly applies to Abdulla Al-Muharraqi and his son Khalid Al-Muharraqi, two artists whose work will be honed in an art exhibit in Bahrain on March 4, 2014 with His Royal Highness, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain opening the exhibition. A highly skilled LightWave 3D Artist in his own right, Khalid Al-Muharraqi will host the “Muharraqi: Father & Son” exhibition, which will also showcase several new pieces, including an artistic masterpiece created by father and son using a mix of traditional and digital art techniques.

The LightWave 3D Group's first LightWave Holiday Challenge in 2013 was a resounding success with more than 20 entries, including two animations. Artists had a little over three weeks to create a holiday scene that incorporated the "Join the Rebellion" logo into the overall theme. We had so many incredible entries that we added winners for animation and fan favorite. Congratulations to winners David Alexander Ary Agüero (still image), Oscar Palma (animation), and Farkas Ekho Zsolt (Facebook fan favorite).

Our own Rob Powers and Lino Grandi shared with attendees the latest advancements in LightWave 11.6, NevronMotion and ChronoSculpt. The 2013 Holiday Challenge is underway! In the spirit of the season, we're looking for one outstanding image or animation created with LightWave that best represents the holiday season... with one special twist: The "Join the Rebellion" logo must be incorporated into the design. The contest is being held on the LightWave Facebook page, where participants will be able to upload their WIPs and final renders for consideraion. The winner of the challenge will receive a suite of products from the LightWave 3D Group that includes LightWave 11.6, NevronMotion and ChronoSculpt software. The challenge ends December 31, 2013 at 11:59 pm CST.

LightWave 3D Space Station Contest Winners Revealed

Who doesn't love a contest? Especially one that with a subject matter that involves science fiction. The LightWave Space Station contest, hosted by Rendering.de has come to an end. The judges reviewed all the entries, giving each a score from one to 10. The totals were tallied and the winners are revealed here, Many congratulatiosn to these talented artists for their winning entries!
