West Virginia high school students create entry for Robotics Competition using LightWave with many tackling the challenge as first time animators

It takes a village – or in this case a team of high school students and a LightWave savvy instructor – to prepare an animated entry for the Annual First Robotics Competition Safety Animation Contest. These students from Putnam County, West Virginia had little or no previous animation experience, but with LightWave and determination, they were able to deliver an animation with a message – in only two months. Kudos to these kids for making it happen!

The Annual LightWave Holiday Challenge has drawn to a close! This year there was a dead heat for the winning image--one traditional, the other futuristic. The judging ended in a tie, which means there are two winners: Lorenzo Zitta (Futuristic) and Nads Ads (Traditional). Both artists will receive LightWave 2015, ChronoSculpt and NevronMotion for their winning entries.

Also with the release of LightWave 2015 comes a new pricing structure: $995 (USD) for a full seat and $495 (USD) upgrade from LightWave 11.x or earlier.

Clarence Wigfall, one of the students working on this project, discovered the team working on this scientific visualization could vastly improve the imaging lab's results of extremely detailed micro CT scans (down to about 2 microns) with LightWave 3D and the VoluMedic plugin, This particular video, created for the 2014 BioArt Contest, was one of two winners from the United States.
